Conflict

When we think of conflict we picture a soap opera where theres a man and 2 girls, one good one bad. Then theres always someone trying to kill someone good because of jealousy. But conflict can be many things it can be the thing that can make a good film great. For example the film "Up" created by pixar was an incredible movie, filled with so many conflicts left and right there was conflict throughout the entire film. It was the saddest movie ever which even had death which is rare for children movies. But because of all these things being so unfortunate to them they made the film very suspenseful to watch. If the movie lacked the conflict and the wife dying it wouldn't be good anymore because you don't feel anything towards the old man, but that he blew up a lot of balloons. An idea for a film would be like a film about the perspective in a person thats disabled somehow. I'd like to capture the emotion behind how annoying that i would assume it is to be felt sorry for all the time. I would like to accomplish a lot more understanding and if possible make it a consideration for people to be more respectful, because being disabled doesn't make you any different from anyone else.

My Review of The Elephant Man

Normally after you see a movie you think about it, you dislike or like it and then you carry on and it never again crosses your mind unless of course its a topic of discussion. Though, with The Elephant Man i saw it i loved it but i kept thinking about it throughout the entire day, I've been able to take some of the things that i saw in this movie and apply them to my everyday life. Nothing drastic, or too analytical, but this film resonated with me and it made me think differently. It made me want to believe that the people whom we are most interested in are the people who aren't very normal. It made me question psychopaths and how they are viewed in society and how they really are. What is a psychopath? What behavior is there to for sure know if someone is a psychopath? How does someone act normal? The reason why i thought of this was because of John Merrick and how he was completely normal but all the other people thought he should be isolated. Besides his deformity, there really isn't anything extraordinary about him. Just because someone does not look a certain way or act a certain way, does this make it okay for society decide he should be segregated indefinitely? Does individuality mean anything if you're unique but you are horrifying to the public? Who decides and what decides when a person is not normal? The elephant man put all of these thoughts into my perspective and im glad they did, because I hope I can get my questions answered sooner than later, because some things in our society aren't paid too much attention too unless they happen to you or someone you care about, and this is definitely   something that needs to be changed.

My Name is John Merrick

How extraordinary for me to feel comfortable and content with people staring at me. As they clapped louder and louder, I felt as if I was always accepted by the people who once thought I was a complete freak-show of a man. I thank Dr. Frederick Treves everyday for finally giving me the voice that was taken away from me for such a long time. What a good man he is for caring for me in such a way that I never had the privilege to have, he is a good man and an even better friend. Ms. Kendal looked remarkable tonight and just like she had told her her theater was wonderful. Never have I seen so many beautiful lights in costumes in my life. She is a good woman for inviting me. I hope to one day be a part of one, even if I stand and play a tree, it would be amazing to be apart of something so beautiful and something that everyone enjoys very much. Thank you to everyone that has been so good to me, and treated me like a normal human being since the first day I arrived here at the London Hospital.

Welcome to my Nightmare...

A phobia of mine, that the doctors cannot by any means explain it are Moths. I have a very bad phobia for moths. Even the word gives me chills some may not understand why and completely call me by any means crazy or random, they'll make fun of me and threaten to show me one. But only because they don't understand how severe it is. Moths and I have plenty of history together. You see whenever something really bad is going to happen I dream with moths. Im not superstitious at all i don't believe that by throwing slat over my shoulder things will get better. Or by all means cleaning my self with an egg will make my allergies go away. Though, with moths it's different, the night before my mother got breast cancer, i had a horrific dream about moths, where i woke up and almost couldn't breathe. I woke up expecting the worse that could happen, and see when you expect something horrible to happen and it does, you feel a little responsible for what happened. And so the months went by and my mom is still getting treated and then not so long ago i had an even worse dream about moths that just completely kept me awake all sunday morning, because I didn't want to mom was acting funny and my dad a little more weird than usual. I found out my dad had lung disease, but I had a somber approach, and was called a horrible daughter for not reacting in uncontrollable tears, but the reason for this was that when you have really bad things happening and they really just pile up. You loose compassion and emotion for yourself. You loose the feeling of optimism that would have probably  made you feel better about the whole thing. But that's the way things are and my fear for moths just gets stronger by the dream and things are better until my moths come back.

Compassionate Science

Technology is great, the advances we have today are unreal, but sometimes if it is not used correctly very severe problems can happen. Although, it might seem way ahead of our time, technology is one day going to rule the world. Whether it is better or not, thats what we decide. The people running these machines and creating new ways of doings things so that we are ahead at all times. That's not something that a piece of metal can decide that's our job. If in the near future i manufacture a very important robot who would help carry water and filter it for the people all over the world drinking dirty water, catching bacteria and deadly viruses. I wouldn't give this remarkable machine to those who are wealthy and have will. I would invest in trying to give every single town or family a well running robot that can carry a mass supply of water in a container and can deliver it to each home so that many children and women won't go out into the desert and walk 3 miles at a time to go get water, that's not even sanitary to survive. This Saturday i learned a lot more about water and how some people are not very fortunate like we are to have a water system in out neighborhood. It impacted me in a way to want to fix this problem, therefore i joined the Thirst Project, which we will be meeting up every time TAC has charity work and just think of new ideas, little or small, to help these people in third world countries that really need our help. Water is the problem, and the solution.

The Future

There are many corny ways to phrase what i'm about to say but it's something we hear very often. Not to worry about the future, but i say that baloney! Of course you have to worry about the future. Not only for who you are becoming but for the people around you. In my future I can imagine aliens, I believe that they're making a comeback this century. Even if it sounds a little too weird or too much like science fiction. Its Possible! How can people be so selfish, so naive? Space is HUGE we are nothing but a fraction of a spec of dust compared to the vastness of Space. I mean small, smaller than you can ever imagine. Just because we cant go to visit all the places in space now. Does not mean there are not other living organisms in a far far away galaxy. Maybe it's even called the Snickers Galaxy, or the Twix, or 3  Musketeers! If people do not start to  acknowledge or become far more open minded to aliens , the future will not be a place where I would like to be a part of. Science is advancing day by day, the least we can do is look far more into aliens. Maybe they won't come attack our civilization, or become mass murders, but i guess we'll never know until it happens. The future that i would like to imagine would include education and peace and communication, that we as human beings tend to lack.

The Time I Laughed Really Really Hard

Mothers are supposed to be the back bone of your life. They protect you and love you like you wouldn't imagine. They are supposed to make it they're goal and achievement in life to make you happy beyond measure. Well, maybe not my mom or my that means my family. Don't get me wrong my mom loves us unconditionally but once you have 6 kids by the third you're exhausted. My mom had to find hobbies she did what any 45 year old does with older kids, waste my fathers money on house paintings, or whatever was on the Home Interior catalog she feels the need to buy things we don't need. My family was having just a normal evening 8pm my sisters settling down me reading, and my little brother doing..whatever it is he does at 8pm. My second oldest sister Faby and Stephanie got into an argument over food. My sister Faby was playing around and it escalated and stephanie was tired so she pretended to run towards her. Faby did not see the pillow in the middle of the wooden floor and ran and crashed in so hard to my back windows. My mom in the kitchen rushed to the living room to see what happened and the fist thing that came out of her mouth was her prized possession her newest arrival  her huge mirror made of glass. My sister cracked her back from the impact and all you hear is my mom going on and on yelling to the top of her lungs how lucky my sister was that she didnt crash into the mirror. My sister had to wear a neck brace for a month and a half  but i will never forget how fast my mom got into the room to yell at my sister for ALMOST  killing her mirror.

My Review of Modern Times

Modern Times is an incredible film with an outstanding perspective all around. Charlie Chaplin does an impeccable job metaphorically explaining his situation as well as the men working. Although it is a silent film, it has sound but the reason i believe it was made silent was for the importance of the actions to be known. Sometimes when you watch a movie you seem to get distracted or look around because you know that you can always visualize the movie with the words. You cannot do that when there is no sound coming from the characters. Although Charlie had a lot of deep meaning and seriousness towards the making of this film. It was a very funny and easy to catch on.

BULLYING

Bullying is something that happens all the time everywhere. Whether you're at school, or at work, its delusional to believe that bullying wont come across your path at all. Among that there are different types of bullying, like name calling, physical contact, and even just neglect. If you are a bully, getting bullied or a bystander you play a very important role in the situation. Although bullying might not affect you its something that has to be taken care of immediatlely. Here in the united states there are approx. 4,400 suicides a year from bullying from ages 10-24. So you'd think right.. Toughen up, dont listen to them, when if you're not in that situation you wouldn't understand because its never happened to you. In schools an average of 1 in 3 students claim to be bullied is bullying preventable? can we end suicide from bullying? Probably not but can we improve the work habits and conditions to make wherever we go a little more safe and open. Yes, is it going to be easy no, but it is not impossible. By teaching our children while they're young to respect others and make a better decision when it comes to showing emotion can really make a difference.

My Favorite Movie

A movie that has comedy, a good action scene, and a amazing ending, is something that we'd all definitely pay for. Though, its so hard to encounter a movie with all three of those characteristics. How many times have we sat by a long tedious movie with a horrible plot and by the time you're half way through the movie you know that the ending is going to be horrible, the characters are all just going to die or worse they live.. It might sound exaggerated, maybe just a little, maybe not at all, but i can  relate. Inside man is an astonishing movie with an amazing plot and even though its a long movie, the entire time it wont even cross your mind that its boring or anything close to it. What i will say that it is a very tricky movie and sometimes you might not understand why things are happening but once it ends you're just mind blown by it and you just want to go out and do something like it. If you do feel intrigued and are interested in watching it you definitely should, I recommend it.
